Byron Regional Food Advantage Project

Byron Region Food – Northern Rivers Food and Beverage Producers and Manufacturers

Book and Videos

The Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales has always been known for beautiful beaches, green hills and quirky culture.  But slowly there has been a rise in the attention paid to produce and producers from the Grafton, to Lismore, Casino, Tweed, Kyogle Ballina and of course Byron Bay.  In 2015, Byron Bay and the other Northern Rivers Councils was awarded a grant from the Department of industry to develop the Byron Food Advantage suit of promotional products; food book and videos.

Launched in late 2017, is the final piece of the promotional items – A Northern Rivers Food and Beverage Handbook.  This book collects 114 agricultural producers and food manufacturers from the seven Northern Rivers Shires and Councils and highlights the breadth of production within the region.  From bush foods to international brands to emerging unique food products, this book highlights them all.  The book is available online and a limited print production.

There were seven videos produced featuring Stone and Wood; Salumi; Pocket Herbs; Mt Warning Water; Byron Bay Cookies; Brookfarm; JJ’s Seafood Ballina. These are all available on the Byron Shire Council Youtube site:
