Byron Greeters Program

Byron Greeters are passionate locals who volunteer their time welcoming and assisting visitors.
The Byron Greeters program provides a free public service to help visitors  experience Byron through the eyes of a local. Importantly, the program is about creating an environment of respect for people and place, encouraging visitors with a 'don't spoil us, we'll spoil you' message.

Thinking of signing up to become a Byron Greeter volunteer? Take this quick assessment.
1. Are you passionate about where you live?
2. Are you able to talk to strangers easily?
3. Do you have an interest in tourism and events?
4. Do you have a mountain of local knowledge?
5. Keen to welcome visitors?
If you have yes answers to these questions please contact us and be part of something fun and rewarding in the community.

Your training
In return for volunteering your time and enthusiasm, we offer training and incentives, regional tourism orientations and famils. You will be provided with a t-shirt and cap and asked to 'buddy-up' with another Greeter to walk the streets and assist visitors.

Register your interest on-line here, or email: volunteer@byron.nsw.gov.au
